"last christmas"
christmas party.
the last place in the world i wanna be then.
because you were there
with him.
i've forced you out of my mind.
broke any contact left with you.
had my hopes and desires renewed.
without you inside.
i saw you there.
i couldn't be bothered. period.
mixed and mingle with my friends.
but i still couldn't help it but had random glances at you.
"take a picture." you would say.
seriously, i couldn't be bothered.
i took it reluctantly with you
while genuinely happily with the others.
many times, i wouldn't smile.
or i would force myself a smile.
happy thoughts, not of you,
to get you out of my hair.. still i couldn't shake it off.
memories of you are fragile like flowers.

i can't be bothered, i've let you go.
faint sounds of familiar music rang through the hall
"last christmas", though the faintest, was the loudest in my mind.
like that idiot, i gave you my heart
but the very next day, you gave it away.
slow dance, couples' favourite part of the party
everyone had someone to dance with.

picked off the shelf for a few seconds and got returned.
